Signal Chasers started in 1954. Their flying field was Buder Park, in Fenton, MO. Back then the pilots would operate their planes by the “crank system.”The first single channel multi-control system.”

When the clubs flying at Buder Park talked to the park rangers and decided to move to the location shown on the map everyone pitch in to help.n Here is an article that was published in American Modeler Sept 1961 when the clubs flying at Buder Park talked to the park rangers and decided to move to the location shown on the map everyone pitch in to help.n Here is an article “Buder Park – American Modeler Sept 1961”.
In the mid to late 70’s some of the guys wanted to form their own flying field and decided to move. Some of the guys stayed at Buder and formed our Sister Club the Aero Pilots. Signal Chasers moved to Pacific, MO off of old Hwy 66 and was there till 2004/2005 when we moved to the location which we are at now, Maramac Farm Valley Rd and Hwy N in Pacific.

Over the years we have had our troubles with the Maramac River from time to time but none have been as bad as the flood of December 2015.

Old pavilion before the flood
Entrance to Field Runways pushed away Pavilion was Pavilion ended up
Needless to say the flood took everything. So in the spring of 2016 we rolled up our selves and started to rebuild.
The Re-Build
First of course we had the clean up and then started digging.
After about a year we were able to get the new pavilion up and runways back in place.
Now with things getting back to normal the club has four to five events a year. The events include Fun Flys where we compete in game like;
- Limbo, flying under a stretched crapper.
- Egg Drop, Carring an Easter egg on the front of the plane and dropping it over a target on the runway.
- Pillion Races, Racing around two pillions with different type of planes
We have our meetings every second Thursday evenings at 6:30 and everyone take turns bring or making something good to eat at the field. We also usually meet every Thursday evenings meeting or not and cook something up. There is always something going on or we make an excuse to have something going on. So if you like to eat, have fun, want to learn about Flying R/C planes come on out and see us.
